Maybe it's not so unrealistic anymore.
What used to be unrealistic was me just running a marathon. Now the unrealistic part that I'm achieving is running faster.
The past couple weeks I've been doing interval training. Mostly I run/walk at 3/6 mph. But sometimes I kick it up to run 7 or 7.5. That's big for me. When I first started running in 2006 for the Couch to 5K program, I was running at 4 mph.
Today's run was:
5 minutes walking
2 minutes running, 1 minute walking, repeat 7 times
5 minutes cooling down
31 minutes, 2.25 miles total
It was a great run!
